SoCal Sand Dunes Couples Photo Session | Brooke and Kolden

Brooke and Kolden’s gorgeous golden couples session was a project of creativity and love. This session was a model call, so the entire concept including their outfits, location, and props were chosen by me! Every minute of heartfelt planning combined with the genuine love these two share for one another resulted in some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken.

I decided to host this session at some sand dunes near Joshua Tree National Park. I shoot here often and I love the golden glow. My vision for this session was warm, romantic, intimate summer love. Some of my personal favorite touches are the cozy white blanket, stunning pink-tinted glasses, and (of course 😉) the wine. As a documentary-style photographer, I truly wanted to showcase how the experience can transcend “just getting pictures taken” and become an event you both enjoy and remember for years to come.

I also want every couple’s gallery to reflect their unique personalities and relationship. This is why it’s so important to me to get to know you beforehand. Kolden and Brooke love to make each other laugh and cuddle up on each other! So, we mixed both movement and joy with slower, tender moments to savor.

Keep in mind that your session is just that- yours! If you and your partner play board games all of the time, then bring one to your shoot! If you love to eat ice cream together, let’s make sundaes. If you dance around the kitchen at night, dance during your shoot too. Years from now, when you look back at these photos I want you to be able to remember the best feelings from this season of your life.
