Big Morongo Canyon Preserve Couples Session | Kayla and Jarrett
This sweet couples session was taken at the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve in Southern California. It’s one of my favorite locations near Joshua Tree. The large green trees and tall wispy grass provide a beautiful change of scenery without having to leave the Mojave. In fact, it almost makes you forget that you’re in the desert in the first place.
Kayla and Jarrett reached out to me to take one last session of photos in the area before they leave to move back home. I’m so honored they chose me to help them capture this chapter!
As a creative, I’m always looking for ways to improve my craft and deliver higher quality images that align with my heart and purpose. A few months ago, I started to experiment with a new approach to the flow of sessions as well as a different style of editing. This was one of the first sessions to come from my new style, and it was so encouraging to see the final results.
Before the session, Kayla told me she was a little nervous because Jarrett doesn't usually like having his photo taken. While I totally understand that concern, my approach is designed to ensure that everyone has a good time. I truly want you to feel like you’re on a date spending quality time with the love of your life. I also love to incorporate movement and interactive poses to keep things flowing and less awkward.
These two absolutely crushed it, and truly displayed the full range of their relationship. From a romantic dip kiss to a tender cuddle to ending with an intense game of rock paper scissors, Kayla and Jarrett’s session perfectly encompasses their love.
