Pioneertown Couples Photography at Boulder Gardens Sanctuary | Haley and Jon
When Haley and Jon first volunteered for a model call, I knew I wanted their session to be set against open fields of uninterrupted nature. The Boulder Gardens Sanctuary in Pioneertown, California provided the perfect backdrop. Having worked with them in the past, I know that their souls are deeply entwined in their affection for one another. I set out to capture the raw essence of their love, and could not be happier with the final results.
Pioneertown California is known for its rustic charm and western-inspired film sets. It's one of the many unique destinations of the high desert. Nearby lies the 640-acre Boulder Gardens Sanctuary, a beautifully preserved nature area. If you’re ever in Joshua Tree, I highly recommend a trip to see Pioneertown, eat at Pappy and Harriet’s, and visit the sanctuary.
Surrounded by the rugged beauty of the desert, Haley and Jon’s love story took center stage. My goal with every session is to capture my clients authentically. I don’t provide poses, but instead offer prompts that help showcase the emotions flowing naturally between Haley and Jon.
A huge element of my documentary-style approach involves embracing movement. I often encourage couples and families to interact freely, allowing their love to guide their actions. As a result, the laughter, stolen glances, and gentle caresses tell their unique story. I’m a firm believer that candid, in-the-moment images are the best way to fully capture the genuine affection shared between human beings.
Haley and Jon share a beautiful closeness, and their chemistry is undeniable. It was truly heartwarming to witness the connection, passion, and love between these two. As always, I’m forever grateful to be a small part of their love story. If you're looking to capture your own love story, I'd love to chat more! Click here to reach out and book your session.
